In April 2005, AccuRain installed its irrigation system in the Demonstration Garden located in the Eleanor Pardee Park in Palo Alto, California. This garden is operated by the Santa Clara County Master Gardeners.
When AccuRain first discussed installing its system at the park, the Master Gardeners made it clear that there was one major technical problem with installing an automated irrigation system at their site – NO POWER!
“No power, NO PROBLEM!”, we replied. You see, the AccuRain system can be easily adapted to use solar power to run the system. The folks at Palo Alto Hardware quickly lent a hand in designing and providing the necessary equipment to power the system.
The AccuRain Starter Kit installed at the Palo Alto Demonstration Garden (PADG) includes 1 Watering Head, 1 Controller, 1 Junction Box, and the Solar Power equipment
Details of the solar equipment are provided below for reference.
